Sun Koshi River (River of Gold) is one of the 7 streams of the Koshi River and it passes through the valley between the Mahabharat range and the Himalayas. The river takes a bigger shape and size when it gets connected with the Bhote Koshi River at Barbesi.
The Sun Koshi River is popular for adventurous sports like rafting and kayaking. Most national and international tourists love to raft in the Sun Koshi River as this large-volume river offers a wild ride to adventure lovers. The rafting begins with an easy soft ride at first and then gradually increases the level of difficulty. Considering the interest of adventure lovers, we are offering an 11-day-long Sun Koshi Rafting.
Beginning your journey of rafting with a drive from Kathmandu, you will reach Dolalghat, the put-in point, and it ends at Chatara. You will witness and experience the different grades of water rapids, and exciting and huge challenges as you progress ahead. It is no surprise to say that you will witness the beautiful scenery of lush green forests, villages, and mountains while rafting along the rhythm of flowing water.

The best time for the Sun Koshi River rafting is the months of May, June, September, October, and November. May and mid-June are just before the monsoon, and September, October, and November are just after the monsoon. At the time, the river flows at a good pace making it possible for a wild ride on the river.
We recommend leaving valuables and non-waterproof items behind. We provide dry bags for storing essential items such as cameras, phones, and medications.
No prior rafting experience is necessary. Our experienced guides provide thorough safety briefings and instructions before the trip begins.
